about us

WHAT IS INKSTONE?

inkstone works at the intersection of culture, education, and technology.

We are a cross-disciplinary team building cultural experiences, programs, and ventures between China and the world.

WHAT WE DO

We tackle projects that require both cultural depth and practical execution. Our work translates oral histories, heritage assets, institutional goals, and local knowledge into formats that contemporary audiences can understand, engage, share, and carry forward.

We operate with a simple belief: culture is not something to only preserve or display. It is meant for people to participate in and make meaningful in the present.

FULL PROJECT LIFE CYCLE

As a team, we have a combined 50+ years of professional working experience in cross-cultural settings. As such, we conceive, launch, and operate new projects from end-to-end.

From early strategy and cultural research to partnership building and business development—or from program design and creative production to operation scaling and long-term growth—we do it all.

  • Human-centered design

  • Experiential education

  • Legal discourse & policy advocacy

  • Venture financing

  • Community building

Together, let’s build cultural experiences that are beautiful, enduring, and human.

our team

  • Doria Yang

Doria brings more than a decade of experience in product design and travel operations, including large-scale programs and events, alongside investment experience working with government and corporate resources.

She brings operational discipline to complex, place-based projects: partner coordination, logistics, budgeting, on-site delivery, guest experience, and execution across multiple stakeholders. Her strength is turning ambitious cultural ideas into programs that can actually run.

  • Yijun Mao

Yijun brings more than fifteen years of experience creating transcultural technology, entertainment, and media experiences. Her background spans global film and television finance, producing, marketing, and AI product management.

She helps shape cultural material into stories, formats, and platforms that can travel across languages, audiences, and markets. Her work connects narrative strategy, audience engagement, emerging technology, and public-facing content.

  • Joslyn Ma

Joslyn brings more than twelve years of experience across legal, technology, educational and non-profit ventures. She helps ideas enter new markets with the right partners, structures, and communities around them.

Joslyn’s work focuses on trust: understanding local context, aligning stakeholders, building partner ecosystems, and creating the conditions for new initiatives to be credible, collaborative, and sustainable.

  • Jeff Niu

Jeff is a venture builder with more than thirteen years of experience bringing ideas from concept to market. His background spans venturing financing, product commercialization, human-centered design, film and visual effects, and experiential education.
